Read Across Our Community Week events will begin Monday night at The Homeplace at Midway, library says

The Midway Branch of the Woodford County Public Library is sponsoring a community reading event at The Homeplace at Midway at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The library is inviting children to come read with residents of the assisted-living cottage (the green cottage). Books will be provided.

Dr. Seuss and his most famous book
The event is the first in a series that will be held as part of Read Across Our Community Week. At 6 p.m. Thursday, children will meet at the Midway Makers Market on East Main Street to read a story and make a craft.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the library will hold a birthday breakfast for Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel), perhaps the best-loved author of children's books. During the week, students at Northside Elementary School will participate in projects inspired by Dr. Seuss. His birthday is Monday, March 2.
