Lakeshore Learning Materials will make the first shipments tomorrow from its new Eastern U.S. distribution center in Midway Station, Vice President Paul Chisholm said today. The company had said that it planned to have 120 employees working on the day of the first shipment; Chisholm said in a text message, "Our headcount is now in excess of 100 and will continue to increase as we start ramping up outbound volumes." Lakeshore's state incentive package requires a $28.5 million investment to be completed by the end of the year and to reach a payroll of 262 by the end of 2021, with average wages and benefits totaling $19 an hour.
